In response to message posted by Cottage_Garden:Your photo of the annuals in some nursery gives promise of what may eventually happen outside.
The image size is 262,616 bytes, a very large file. If you have any image editing software it is relatively easy to compress such a file and not lose any apparent detail as seen on a monitor.

In response to message posted by Cottage_Garden:On the top and at the left is a white, shrubby [hanging down] plant that I do not recognize. I also do not grow the white forsythia - and have never seen it to my knowledge. Sounds like a good bonsoi subject

In response to message posted by Gay_Klok:I have rearranged the page so the photo and text are more together. The photo is of the Abeliophyllum and it has several different common names including white forsythia.

In response to message posted by Howie:Did you get that foot of it the other day? I kinda thought you probably did.
Well, you are not alone, not quite.
I am glad I saw the cherry blossoms in Washington yesterday and a lot of flowering trees down in Maryland today -- they might get freezing rain tonight.
We, lucky devils that we are, might get snow and sleet and freezing rain tonight and tomorrow.
And what do you think I had to pot up this morning because they were sprouting in the baggies?? Sure, Hostas and Cannas. And where do you think they are spending the night tonight?
That's right, in my kitchen.
All I dunno six eight ten flats -- I kept the most cold tolerant stuff on the glass porch, brought the rest inside. By the time you add the annuals I couldn't resist last week and have been trying to acclimate. Oh yeah, and Natalie's herb seedlings in the basement under lights.
COme on SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!
rotfl otherwise I'd be in tears

In response to message posted by Howie:How could that name that sweet alyssum "Carpet of Snow" -- using the s word like that, it's not a good name for a plant AT ALL!
