But I can still hear the woodpeckers in the woods, the deer are leaving footprints across the lawn, the birds are sheltering in the rhododendron by the front door and in the forsythia outside my bedroom window.... the squirrels are sooooooooooo busy out there doing I know not what. The terrariums are growing apace in the kitchen and steam up every morning, the lone African violet with enough sunshine is setting buds. So there is hope. Pretty soon I can start some seeds. Dontcha miss it?! I have to admit though that I am not all that great at the finer points of grooming during the summer -- garden grooming that is. I am just not a neat freak so it never looks manicured. Also, I always get distracted from the chores part and end up enjoying instead. Something tells me that is not all bad in the grander scheme of things.
