» Cottage_Garden - Seeds & Tasmanian Piggy In response to message posted by Gay_Klok:We are so happy to hear that little Piggie has settled down. They can be sooooooo pushy!!! The seeds chilled for several weeks while we were away (as instructed on the package), I started them when we got home and they popped up like Topsy. Now they need to be potted up. I am planning to share them with some gardening friends to maximize the chance of getting a population started here in PA. One friend has a hoop house cold frame where she grows greens all winter and I think we may plant some in there, also in my raised beds and out in the garden. We may also keep some indoors in a cold basement where they can go dormant but not be subjected to heaving damage. It is very difficult to predict what kind of winter we will have; first frost is usually around mid October, then Indian summer until about mid Novemebr when it might snow or ice and be quite cold. By December it is usually very cold. -- posted by Cottage_Garden
