» LeighGK - Alternative treatments for asthma

Hi, Floyd,

Love your article. You tackled some issues I think are key in successfully treating a difficult disease. It's difficult enough for patients to keep track of all the different medicines available, let alone deal with the onslaught of alternative therapies.

As for chiropractic care, I will admit that after my car accident, a gentle adjustment now and then relieves my head and neck aches. As for asthma, well, I won't be taking my son anytime soon, though my doctor is always sending me home with pamphlets and articles.

Here is my suggestion regarding asthma and chiropractic care: Keep taking your traditional medications and treatments outlined by your doctor or allergist. If you feel the need to "try" chiropractic adjustment, go ahead. It is non-invasive and probably won't do any harm as long as you don't change your medications. And, who knows, that headache or backache may finally go away.

Thanks, again, Floyd, for the important information.
