Paym, thanks so much. This place wouldn't be the same without caring folks like you. Thanks for taking the time to post a very welcome message.

Deb - you won't be disappointed with this bread; it's a keeper. It freezes well, too. If you really want to go whole hog, cover a slice with a thin layer of cream cheese - yum! But really, the bread stands alone quite well. It's one of my favorites.

Hi Jerri,

I've finally found a minute to stop by for a cup of tea and that delicious sounding bread. What a hectic week it's been. This is just what I need to relax for a minute.

I'm trying something new. I found a recipe on the Internet for Resurrection Rolls made with crescent rolls. You dip a marshmallow in melted butter, roll it in cinnamon sugar and seal it up in the dough. Then bake it for 11 minutes or so till it's brown. When you break it open, it's empty--just like the tomb on Easter morning. It tastes sort of like a cinnamon roll. I'm making yeast dough to use instead of the crescent rolls. I hope they turn out OK. It'll be fun anyway.

Well, I've enjoyed my visit. I hope things are going well with you. Thank you for the tea and company.

Linda

Hi Linda.

Your recipe sounds interesting and delicious. I'll have to try it one of these days. Do let us know how it turns out with your own homemade dough.

Thanks for stopping in. Hope you have a Happy Easter. I'm sure this recipe will be a hit.

Jerri,

Thanks for the invitation. Mmm! That carrot pineapple bread is delicious and yes, I'm enjoying my cup of tea as I write. Tea is my favorite drink except for in the morning when I definitely like my coffee. smile

A wonderful article. I really enjoyed the company along with the tea and bread. Another great recipe for Grandma and the boys to make.

Glad you made it here to visit, Mary. Do make this bread with the boys; it's really yummy and healthy with the carrots and pineapple in it (minus the sugar - oh,well!).

» feistyfemale56 - This bread is great!

I made four loaves of it today, Jerri, so I could share with my neighbors--it turned out great.

I did a couple of modifications to make it less caloric...substituted unsweetened applesauce for the oil and used half of the white sugar that the recipe called for...and the bread turned out nicely moist and sweet, but not overly so.

Thanks again for sharing this receipe with us.

You're sure welcome. Sounds like some healthy changes - I'll have to try your changes, Deb. Less sugar is better for everyone. I have been wanting to try this recipe with Splenda, but haven't done so yet. The applesauce is an even better idea.
