» CulinaryJen - Mincemeat Pie and Plum Pudding

Thanks for the article!

My parents are British descent, and we used to eat Plum Pudding and Mincemeat Pie. I LOVE Mincemeat Pie! ;)

Thanks for the history, the links and the recipe!

I've got some 17th and 18th century mincemeat recipes across on my Kiwi Kitchen, http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/8757...
and a 21st century version too.

Merry Christmas...

» sugarfiend - raisin question

Hi there! I want to make a bourbon cake and it calls for golden raisins. I have a TON of regular raisins and want to use them. However, I won't use them if it affects flavor.

My question is this: DO golden raisins taste different than regular raisins?

thanks for your time

In response to message posted by sugarfiend:

I don't know your recipe, but if your cake doesn't call for it, my advice is to plump the raisins in the bourbon - they'll be just as tasty as golden raisins and more succulent.

Good luck.
