Aren't those cross-country moves fun?! laugh. I've done that myself a few times as well.

Were you not able to bring your plants with you? I would be too sad to leave my plants behind... but then, I've got less than 10 pots.

You're right --- those cross-country moves are designed to test one's character!! No, I could not bring any of my 80+ containers with me --- some of them I'd had for more than 6 years! I was quite upset at first when I realized that I'd have to leave them behind, but as it turned out, I found good homes for all of them with plant-lover friends. And I've had reports that they're thriving in their new homes!!
