» Wolvie27 - Great Article. Period.

Thank you for this insightful and interesting article on current trends in gaming advertising. I think the movie lead in was great, especially since gaming is a grand area of entertainment. Keep on writing great articles Dan.

In response to message posted by sheepwink:

I would just like to say that anything a console puts out for games will never be anywhere near the quality of games put out for the computer.

My reasoning for this is that a console is limited by tv graphics, controller input, aging technology the second it hits the stores, very little in the way of user design and development (eg. no mods), inability to update software, and accessibilty to multiplayer, whereas the computer can play near any game from its long history and continue to give its gamer more.

The only thing it seems consoles having going for them is that it is incredibly easier for a game designer to create games for them, since the specs never change. This allows the designer to make a game that doesn't have to work on a million different configurations, but I'm not sure how much this is an edge over the computer games since industry standards have developed over the years, especially DirectX v8.
