Ann, what a wonderfully thoughtful article!My kids used to hate writing thank you notes and they would grudgingly sign the obligatory birthday cards. Now that we've got a card making software program, they love to send cards for everything. They make bday cards to go with their friends gifts - saves me $2 -$3. They send Grandma and Pop cards to just say hello and with every card they take time to make up their own greeting inside. Much nicer than a sloppy signature on a store-bought card.
