- Help
Anyone have any advice? (I hope this is the proper forum for this) July first Du Jour went live - . It features topical humor with Harold and his friends. I hope someday to be syndicated. What is the best way to build site awareness? I have registered with search engines, linked to other cartoon/cartoonist Web sites, gotten an account with Cafepress.com and begun getting articles in local/metropolitan newspapers. Does advertising pay? I have heard pros and cons. Most advertising I have seen is very pricy. Is liability insurance necessary? In this suit happy age, (excluding copyright and other infringement issues), are lawsuits from disgruntled viewers a concern? (Who knows who a cartoon may upset). Are there Web sites or organization that help newbies like myself? I am new at this and have much to learn. I would appreciate and advice you may have. Thanks!

- Practical Solution
In response to message posted by rseymour: OK here are some very, very practical suggestions.
- Why not write a course with us.(Arts and Crafts SuiteU)
You would be paid by percentage for the number of students you teach. This would give you a lot of exposure. - Why not write a topic with the Suite this would give you much more exposure.
- Make sure that you have a very good signature that attracts lots and lots of attention! Particlularly one with a small attractive cartoon but not too large to make your posts slow to load.
- That will give you even more exposure and every post you make will be picked up by Google and because you are linked to your site in your sig it will take you up in the rankings very rapidly.
- I found your site by taking the last part of your email address and adding www to the front of it
However if you want the maximum advantage for being prepared to post in discussion areas and for doing your bit around the Suite....put a live link into your tag so that people can click through directly. - Rather than advertising why not become a part of the Suite Market Place and have your TShirts for sale here with a percentage going to the Suite that way you would have hundreds of eager lil' affiliates selling your wares.
- If you need information about how to become affiliate enabled email me and I will talk it through with you.
Hmmmmmmmm...... I have a host of other suggestions but that is all for now as I must go to bed. Post again if you would like to further the discussion. I gather that the cartoons are yours? Because if so you would find writing very short articles or funny skits here well worth your while, Jo (PS Good stuff and I luv cartoons and cartooning!!!!)

- Re: Help
In response to message posted by rseymour: Thanks for the advice. Effective September 1, Du Jour is now DuJour - http://www.dujour.ws . We found dujour easier to find on the net. I have been trading links, submitting to databases, humor sites and search engines. So far little effect on hit count. Please tell me more about becoming an affiliate. I already have an agreement with Cafepress.com. Would this be a problem? Any other advice also welcome. Thanks!
