» jerrib - Amazing tales

Your mothering instinct worked in the first instance - that's great. I just read an article about Cinnamon bears and a woman who's studying them (didn't even know about them until I read the article) - amazing you should have an encounter with one (guess they're not plentiful).

Anyway, I really enjoyed your article and "bear tales."

We used to camp at the old Spirit Lake before Mt. St. Helens blew its top (Spirit Lake was at its base). One night we were sharing our tent trailer with my sister and family and we heard a bear. She and I were quietly discussing what to do to make sure the kids were safe (sleeping on the floor between us). Suddenly my brother-in-law banged on the trailer wall and yelled and scared it away! We were really too petrified to even think of doing that! Funny how you react, isn't it?
