» Sunbear - Hurrah for your article on defense!

Hi Chad,

I follow college basketball some now. I used to follow it more extensively, as I graduated from North Carolina (and love Dean Smith).

I thought you handled your article extremely well. Your knowledge of the game shines through. I particularly liked your explication of the nuances of zone defense.

Welcome to the Suite. Great Start. Planning on subscribing to your topic (though I am having trouble with the "subscribe" link. In any event will be back.

Best wishes,
Tom

Thanks, Tom. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the article.

Please let me know if you continue to have problems with the subsribe button and I will have it checked for you.

Dean Smith is inarguably one of the all-time great coaches. Before I annoy all of the Dukes fans out there, I probably should also point out that I consider Coach K one of the best as well.

If you have some spare time, Dean Smith's autobiography (A Coach's Life) is a good read, although it is always difficult to get a handle on Dean Smith the man. He keeps much private. John Feinstein's book A March to Madness is also a good read, and follows all the teams of the ACC for a complete season.

Thank you again for the input. Please let me know if there is any topic you would like to see covered in the future in greater detail.
