» Dan_Ellsworth - Readers awake ...

... and smell the coffee.

I remember (but how long ago?) almost tiptoeing over to this topic, realizing I wasn't at all the "coffee connoisseur", never realizing that eventually I would not only be a subscriber but excited by some articles here.

And here it is, an introduction to one thing that could make me a coffee connoisseur of sorts -- the differing "flavors" of how we coffee-drinkers affect the treatment of the earth and the treatment of coffee-raising people. Katherine, I think you have brewed up a blend here with good aroma and civilized finish.

» lwmcsweeney - Equal Exchange Coffee

In response to message posted by kaustinson:

Just took a tour of Equal Exchange, which is headquartered in the Boston area. I was excited to come back and read your article from last Fall, which I had missed. Great coffee, (and hot chocolate and tea). Just wanted to add that for those of you who want to try the coffee at the source, they do a thriving mail order at their Web site, which Katherine highlighted in her article. One thing they also discussed was their targeting of any denominational parishes/congregations, etc - so if you're in charge of your group's coffee gathering, you can order coffee from them and highlight an interesting issue. Fair trade is becoming a hot topic in the food world - not just for coffee.
