I just saw "Lady For A Day" recently and was totally blown away by May. It's one of the great supporting performances I've ever seen--method acting before there was method acting. I was disappointed with the film however--I wanted it to be a story about Apple Annie, and instead in turned out to be a story about Dave the Dude. Can't stay mad at anything to do with Damon Runyon though--love those stories.

I watched a movie on TV last week--"Make Way For Tomorrow" (1938?) about an elderly couple (Beulah Bondi and I forget the guy's name) being ignored by their children. Incredibly touching film with a heartbreaking, very un-Hollywood ending. I can't more highly recommend a movie--especially on the subject of grand ladies.
Cheers!
Darryl
