» Renie_Burghardt - Judy Holliday Hi Kendahl, another interesting bio! I was a big Judy Holliday fan. I knew she was smart, but didn't know her IQ was that high. She looked great as a blonde. Enjoyed the article, and I look forward to the next part. Take care. Hope the sun is shining in WA!Renie pS. I loved Jeanne Crain, too! -- posted by Renie_Burghardt » kcruver - Re: Judy Holliday In response to message posted by Renie_Burghardt:Thanks for the comments! Yep, Judy was a bright lady. She was really into word puzzles. Once, a couple of Ivy League students watch in amazement as she spend through an extremely difficult word puzzle(most people couldn't even finish it) in a few minutes. Judy's one of my favorites too; I love funny people and she exuded so much warmth. Speaking of warmth, it's been off and on here, but at least the flowers are out. (Oh--and I also like Jeanne Crain, after seeing her in "Leave Her to Heaven" and "A Letter From Three Wives", I was a fan.) Take care, -- posted by kcruver » Renie_Burghardt - Re: Re: Judy Holliday In response to message posted by kcruver:Yes, those were both good Jeanne Crain movies. By the way, is she still around? I don't recall hearing if she passed on yet. I also loved Ann (Anne?) Blythe! Happy Mom's Day, Kendahl! She lives with her husband on a ranch in Southern California. They've been married for more than fifty years! It sounds like she has retired into a satisfying and peaceful life. I would like to learn more about Ann Blyth. There doesn't seem to be much information around about her, but three people have told me that they adore her. One man in particular had quite a crush on her after seeing "Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid" It has made me very curious! Happy Mom's Day to you too! Later, -- posted by kcruver » swest - Hi, Kendahl! I finally had time to look up your site! Wonderful writing! I have subscribed in order to keep track of all these classic actresses. Have you ever heard of the Henry Aldrich series that was on television during the early 50s? This probably would not have had any classic actresses, but I would love to find copies of it on video. Those were some of my favorites as a child along with Ma and Pa Kettle. Anyway, thanks for all the visits and comments you have made in the land of the "bizarre & mysterious."-- posted by swest » kcruver - Re: Hi, Kendahl! In response to message posted by swest:Thanks for coming by Sharon! I'm glad you like the site. I do love your articles; it is so much fun to learn the orgins of things, especially when they're a bit eerie. I don't know much about the Henry Aldrich TV series, but you can buy a video at Movies Unlimited--just look up "The Aldrich Family" in the search box. I like that site; I've found lots of rare stuff there (no, they're not paying me to say that :-) ). There's lots of Ma and Pa Kettle movies at my local video store. I'm always looking for good classics that kids might like; I'll have to rent one. Thanks for coming by and saying such nice things. I'm looking forward to reading more of your articles! -- posted by kcruver
