I finally saw the movie yesterday, and I was not disappointed. Like Curtis and Brian I thought Thornton did an outstanding job as being Crockett. If I had a time machine and could go back into history it would be as I think Crockett would have really been like.
Second place has to go to Anna though. Travis and Bowie were no where near the actors as Billy Bob Thornton. I learned to dislike Anna all over again after watching the movie. So in that respect Anna did a good job of acting.
It was very nice to see no hump in the Alamo and a night battle.
As for Rose I am starting to have second thoughts about him. One point I have to say in his favor is that in 1873 when he helped get land for the Alamo decendants the court did NOT challegene him on his name and character.
In the same respect the 101st Regiment of Napleoens was not at the battle of Borodino. I don't know what to think. LOL The more I dig the more confused I get.
