Middle Age Anchorites
This archived discussion is "read only".
» Mandy2001 - Anchoritism I am just beginning to study women of the middle ages, and am at present preparing a report on Julian of Norwich. I have read the article on Middle Age anchorites including the definitions of the four different types of anchorites. I was just wondering - as I am still pretty clueless on religious ways of life, in what ways do anchorites differ from monks and nuns, especially the types of anchorites who lived in a community? Did they simply not follow a specific order or specific rules?-- posted by Mandy2001
