Just the other day I was thinking about a person who is very close to me and some trials she is going through.

She is a good teacher who has found disfavor in the eyes of her immediate supervisor for using pedagogy outside the thinking of management. Her methodology is greatly supported by top flyte educators today. The disfavor has caused her to resign her position after more than two decades of dedication. So it is a serious thing.

What is interesting is that she has come to a place where she has a much greater understanding of what it means to be a Christian in today's world. Instead of being so hung up on rules and rigorous obedience to them she has opened her mind to the fact that God wants us to be "bubbling over with joy" toward our life and its experience--like little children.

I think I can tell that you, Minnie, have gone through some very difficult trials in your experience of life. And, it shows! Not in bitter rancour; but in the way you express your inner person here.

Thanks for blooming into the flower of your potential.

Phil, thank you for sharing about your friend. It's encouraging to hear of Christians who can truly be joyful when major things aren't going well.

I wonder if all those who are joyful have experienced a lot of suffering as well. I really did nothing to deserve the joy that God has given to me.

I imagine God as a very loving parent who would not allow us to go through any tragedy without first knowing that to do so will help us in some way.

I think that God gave me a passion to please Him and therefor I delight to do His will. Lately I seem to understand the reasons for particular rules or procedures so even though I don't get hung up on them, God gives me a check as a way to tell whether I am following the guidance of the Holy Spirit or not.

Phil, I know that God has done a lot in your life, also. I am grateful that you have a positive attitude and that you are willing to share your thoughts with us. Thanks!!

While I don't always agree with Bob's take on Scriptures, I have to fully agree with Minnie on her observation here. He always takes a scholarly approach toward his subjects. And, that, is commendable. He deserves tops credits for his scholastics. And, he writes well.
