I sent you an e-mail with my address in it.
I will definitely keep the coffee pot on. Any lurkers can pray for me. I got the call today that a pre-trial date has finally been set for the assault I went through this summer. The date is for Nov 19. On that date, and any time after that he can plead guilty. I am really not excited about the idea of going to trial. I am glad that there are 365 "be not afraids" in the bible, cause I need them all!

I will have to check to see if "into You" is on the cd I have. I am spending time purposely choosing to praise God these trying days....so I am the one with a chocolate lover's latte in one hand and the other raised in worship, groving infront of the speaker. This coffe house has the BEST sound system don't ya know! **grin**

» Dan_Ellsworth - meta, can you help?

metamorphasis, there's a discussion here that possibly could use your testimony and encouragement, if you are able to offer it.

Sorry I haven't kept in touch more. There are some good reasons for that, but not enough. You were someone who encouraged me at times, and I shouldn't let that go.

Hello, Paul, I guess the previous paragraph is for you, too.

I'll check it out. Sorry I haven't been more active here, or at Christian Humor. I've been fairly distracted with malfunctions and remodeling at the house we bought next door. You needn't feel a bit bad about not keeping in touch. I did, by the way, reference Christian Humor in one of my last articles. And thank you, Meta, for keeping the coffee fresh and hot. I hate it when that pale bluish-green fuzz grows on the grounds.

» Tom - "Every Grain of Sand"

Greetings Folks,

I was checking out the Entertainment COI and saw this discussion and thought I'd stop in. The title of this discussion "Off the Beaten Path" reminds me of my favorite Christian rock album. I'm not into Christian rock, nor am I a heathen (Well, ;) maybe a little?) but I've been a huge Bob Dylan fan since 1961. I have almost all of his work, and one of my favorites is one of his Christian albums entitled "Shot of Love" produced in 1981. There are some great songs on there, like "Shot of Love," "Trouble" and "Property of Jesus."

Everyone has an opinion, and mine is that his work entitled "Every Grain of Sand" is the greatest piece of Christian rock ever written. No one can write like Dylan, no one ever has and no one ever will. Check out the words and music to this song and you'll know what I mean.   <img src=http://www.suite101.com/files/topics/836... height=18 width=18>

Tom, thanks for the tip. I've only heard Slow Train Comin', but it sounds as though I better check out Shot of Love, too. On Slow Train, I think my favorite is "Man Gave Names to all the Animals". It's fun.

By the way, this coffee's good with a little shot of almond extract. Gives it a sort of cherryish flavor.

Thanks for dropping in, Tom. I'm not much of a sports fan, but I'll still drop in and check out your stuff in the near future.

C'mon back some time!

Wow. I forgot where the Bob Dylan recommendation came from. I checked old e-mails, and even browsed entries to Yahoo.com's christianmusic-list to see where it came from. Anyway, I saw some reasonably priced Dylan at Hastings (my local bookstore) and wanted to get one. Not wanting the wrong one, I did all that afore-mentioned hunting. I broke down and got the one I thought was right, and came home with Shot of Love. THEN, it hit me to re-check these discussion entries. Good call Tom! I like it. It'll take some listening since the lyrics didn't come with the CD, but those that came through on my first couple listens were great.

» Ognyen - Shared Smile

Howdy --whew, it's dusty in here. *dump out the coffee, wash and dry the stuff, re-brew from a fresh can* Sorry, I'm not into the specialty coffees. I'd only mess it up if I tried to make some. Anyway, I wanted to share that I finally got a tractor, and after two return visits from the dealer, it runs! He ended up replacing the starter solenoid. That '55 Ford 800 is gonna be fun. We got a blade with it, and a six-foot finishing mower is forthcoming. That oughtta take a big bite out of the lawn that used to take us three nights a week to mow with two riding mowers.

Hmm. How does this tie in to music? I guess I'll have more listening time.

Smells good now. I'm about ready for a cuppa Joe, no fancies in it. I haven't kept up. Are The Insyders still recording? O. C. Supertones? There; I've flaunted a significant fraction of my knowledge. That felt good. Thanks for the coffee.

» Ognyen - Supertones, Eh?

I don't know if you'll find this to be bad news or not, but over there on the table is an article on the Supertones.

I haven't heard any news like that on Insydersder. Even though ska/punk isn't really my listening style, but I don't like to see Jesus' messengers disband.

Explained, in context, it's not terrible news, maybe not even bad. They did their thing together, dug out of adversity, and the individuals have lives and prospects and ministries. That's what should happen; not all groups should be their members' careers.
