How do you decide how to give?

I would be interested in how this topics readers decide about giving. How much? Is the tithe applicable today? Where? Should all our money go to the local church? What if our church doesn't give to missions? To the poor? I'll follow up with my thoughts but want to hear from others first. Feel free to e mail me also.
