Hi Dr. Phillips

My doctor put me on 2000 mg/day antibiotics to ensure that if there is an infection in my neck area (he was concerned of menengitis) that it would start to relieve the pain and get rid of the infection. The pain has still not subsided, but it does seem to change. The pain seems to be in my neck and shoulders, but then my ears recently popped, the pain changed and now it is in my upper neck. When I am sitting with my head down for a few minutes too long, it creates pain in my neck. When I open my jaw it aches in the back where it opens and closes and I feel like my head weighs about 100 lbs. Does this sound normal????

It really comes down to me feeling almost paranoid that something else is wrong. I had to see four specialists before they finally diagnosed me with Graves and I have a hard time immediately trusting Dr's.

With the antibiotics not working, does that even make this condition sound more like muscular or more like something else...
