» armir - stereotypes in Shark tale

To the CNYU proffesor who wrote the article on the stereotypes in Shark tale. I would like to know how is it that even though you have not seen the movie you are stating that Shark Tale has a negative effect on children who watch it.
I am a 16 year student and I have seen it many times . I have not seen one instance of stereotypical behaviour or symbolism in the movie. It is just a kid's movie which if anything has a positive effect on the way children are told to treat others with respect and to give everyone equal oppurtiny no matter what they look like. In conclusion I would like to say that your analysis of the movie is completely untrue and that you should at least watch a movie before making such bold statements about it and the people that are invovled in the making and planning of it.

Wow. If you didn't see any stereotypes in Shark Tale, I'm not sure you know what a stereotype is. I've seen the movie, and I was pretty horrified by the stereotypes of different ethnic groups. I mean, all of the fish whose voices were played by African American actors lived in a the run down part of the ocean and worked at a car wash, and the fish (sharks) voiced by Italian actors were mobsters. Those seem like negative stereotypes to me.
