It is nice to hear the voices of childfree men. Too often, women are pressured into having children when the husbands/boyfriends start hollering for babies. After the births of these children, the men suddenly realize that pregnancy and childbirth changed their once vibrant partners into worn-out mothers like their own mamas. The spoiled men then go on to have affairs or divorce their wives. The ex-wives are left alone to raise the children with too little money while man's standard of living raises after a divorce and he goes on to acquire a new trophy wife and fancy car. It is nice to see men out there who are adamantly childfree and are seeking a partner with the same values.

I feel so relieved to find that there are men who understand the pressures on the part of an intrusive and misguided society on women to settle down and clone themselves at the expense of their spiritual and creative pursuits. As a single woman, I have grown so tired of hearing "You are too beautiful not to be married with kids by now." While I appreciate the comment, it irks me to think that people view marrying well and producing children as the most worthwile pursuits of attractive women. As a childfree woman, I refuse to give in to the idea that ALL men want to create a genetic monument to themselves, and that no man will marry a woman who doesn't want to go through the weight gain, painful labor, stretchmarks, sagging breasts, exhaustion, loss of self identity just for the sake of perpetuating the family name. I refuse to become the cliche in order to be loved as so many other women do.
