» lreno - abuse

My sister had her granddaughter for two and a half years the girl is three now and the mother took the little girl because her husband stopped the mother from hitting the child. My sister and I took the girl to division of family services because of abuse. We have seen the mother hit, kick, punch, pull her hair. The mother has brought the little girl here with her fingers burnt from a curling iron saying she allowed her to touch it because she wouldn't listen. We visited the child and found the child eating dirty popcorn off the floor with a pit-bull dog.The little girl said it hurt her down there pointing to her vagina. There was a man lying on the floor next to the couch where she sleeps. Next to him were 14 empty beer bottles and the little girl was wearing a bra. She had a vaginal infection. They put the little girl in a foster home and then gave her back to the mother after a few weeks. The DFS didn't interview any of the seven witness or allow anyone to testify. They never took her to a doctor for the vaginal infection. The mother has a mental illness and was in a physiatric hospital they never called the hospital. I am the aunt and have seen all this abuse. My sister and I are not allowed to see her now so we don't know what is happening to her now. The system has let this little girl down. If anyone has any suggestion Please, please help this precious little girl.

Hello
I dont understand how they can take a child out of a good environment and put them in an environment that has no good for them in the long run. Then when things go really bad like in this situation they give the kids back. Now if you might have screwed up once or twice they get there kids taken away and have to fight for them when they come out of a good environment. I dont understand our system anymore. In this case I would for sure take the kid out of that environment and put her back in her grandmothers care where she was safe. I have 2 children of my own and it would devistate me if anything to this kind of crulity would have happened to either of them. Sincerly:Kathy

I was shocked when I read your message, and it's something I've read alot since I started researching childabuse... The government makes me sick when I hear stories like yours where abuse is detected and investigated, but yet nothing is done. I looked up a few resources that you might want to look into that mat atleast help by making your story known, and DON'T GIVE UP! Things like this can end up very badly so keep fighting on behalf of this little girl! Try emailing Parents Anonymous:
parentsanonymous@parentsanonymous.org, they might be able to give you more inform on who to talk to for help or try Prevent Child Abuse America:
mailbox@preventchildabuse.org
They might be able to direct you to more resources as well. Good luck...
