I was thinking more of my situation...my brother was over 13,I was 8, when he began teaching me about the 'facts of life.' The last time he crawled into my bed he was 18...old enough to know better, for sure. From the one discussion we had, before the family cast me out, he was sorry. Later he got defensive and cold to me...but in our one initial conversation--he was sorry for the life I've lived and always wondered if it was his fault. Because of that, I always hope there are some out there who do feel that sorrow over the life they've changed for someone else.

And yep, I, too, am close minded, and vocal about my feelings. Why should anyone expect one to be broad minded on such a horrible subject? It's not a source for jokes! And I let people know why. If they can joke about it, they can hear the reality of it.
