In response to Incredibly Sad... posted by tamara_peters:HI Susan,
I agree with Tamara that this is incredibly sad. Finding a child, but no one claiming the child is unbelievable. I wonder if the parents had something to do with it.
Ya know, I am amazed what goes on with kids and teens right in my own hometown. No one is missing but I cannot tell you how many of my daughters friends have parents who literally abandon (Sp) them.
(I have three daughters)
My youngest daughter has this one friend who is a senior in highschool. (we will call her Lynne) Lynne's mother decides one day to pick up and leave. The mother left Lynne in an apartment that she was renting. Leaving Lynne alone at the age of 17 years old.
Lynne then moves in with someone that she works with. Lynne's mother comes back to town engaged with some guy and tells Lynne that she is not aloud to move in with her. Hello? How can a mother tell their child that they cannot move in with them when the child is 17 years old?
My second daughter has a friend whose mother left town with two men. The mother drops off my daughter's friend to her grandparents home and hands over the child's birth certificate - the girl was 16 years old.
The mother comes back three months later pregnant, has the baby and then gives it up for adoption. But still decides to live alone and has the daughter still living with the grandparents.
I am just in shock with all the stories that goes on with my daughters friends. There are more crazy stories, but I think you get the picture.
Susan, I think you are such a special person for doing what you do. You have a big heart
