» medicinewoman22 - Sequoyah

I was told that he was related to Tiana Rogers as a cousin. I would like to know if this is true.
Tiana [Diane] Rogers was the dau of Capt 'Hell Fire' John Rogers and his 2nd wife,Rachel Hughes. Tiana was b abt 1818, we do not know for sure but there is a marr rec for her to DAvid GENTRY [son of Elisha Gentry] 1806 Landerdale, Tn. Supposedly they had 3 children. Capt Rogers is purported to have been a wealthy Scotch Indian trader who was in the Rev War and taken in by the Cherokee becoming the most prominent white men of the Cherokee Nation. [no idea if this is true]. He supposedly helped to direct the Cherokee emigration to Ark. Its told Tiana's uncles were Chief John Jolly, Chief Tallantusky and that her sisters and nieces married wealthy Cherokee merchants John Drew, Ignatius Chisholm and Peter Harper. It says she was married to David Gentry who was a white man of considerable wealth and power and removed with the Cherokee in 1817 to Dardanelle Ark then was killed in a battle bet the Cherokee/Osage c1828-29. Then Tiana supposedly marr Gen Sam Houston and they were together in Okla for 3yrs when he left for Wa and she stayed with her tribe. Tiana died abt 1838 fr pneumonia and in early 1900's she was reburied at Ft Gibson in Okla.[ again have no idea if all this is true, esp abt David Gentry, and wish I knew or could find more documentation of this] Its also noted that Tiana [Diane] Rogers was related to famous Will Rogers by 3 generations. Will Rogers father [which I have researched] was Robert Rogers sr. & 1/2 Cherokee. Will Rogers m Mary America Schrimsher, a descendant of Chief O-Loo-Tsa, so told. I am really interested in any kind of documentation on relation of Tiana Rogers to Sequoyah, marr to David Gentry and to Gen Sam Houston. Any leads would be helpful or some direction for me to look, thanks kindly.
