» Renie_Burghardt - Welcome!

Hi Chris, welcome to the Suite! Hmm, the grilled pizza does sound good. But I tried it one time, and it stuck to the grill. Of course, it wasn't through your method. Anyway, I enjoyed your first article, and look forward to others. Good to have you here!

» mastiffs2005 - Love your topic!!

Welcome to Suite, Chris! You're in the right place for people who love to cook and eat *grin* I haven't tried grilled pizza yet, but you've definitely inspired me... I know fall is here, but I'll grill if there's snow on the ground hehehe

Keep up the great work, I can't wait for more!

» sckaroly - Another pro in the Suite and Johnson & Wales

Welcome Chris to Suite101. I've already subscribed to A Chef's Kitchen and look forward to some great articles in the coming weeks.

Have you heard of J&W's new program for students with a BS? They call it "Garnish your Degree." It's a one-year culinary arts program for people like me who already have a BS degree. Mine is in dietetics, so I don't have classic training. The program is only available in Denver right now.

What type of restaurant do you work in? My employment is on the other side of the house -- institutional food service. But writing -- and especially food writing -- brings many more rewards to me now after 30 years in the industry. Who knows, maybe I'm the next Craig or James (sorry, I've got to get ahold of my self!)?

There's at least one other food professional on Suite101. He's Andrew Orr at http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/food... . Andrew writes more about the technical and management side of things, but his articles are informative.

Again, welcome aboard.

Steve

In response to message posted by sckaroly:

Thanks everyone for the welcome, I know I will enjoy all of this! As for the Garnish your Degree Program, I had no idea about that, do you know if you have to have a degree in the culinary field? It is certainly and interesting idea, I myself have attended Johnson and Wales, and I was rewarded for my time there with knowledge... If you are receptive for the ideas which they give you, you can learn alot.

Anyway, thank you everyone and enjoy!
