Another great article, Anne. I certainly agree with you on the need for us to make time in our own and our children's busy schedules for teaching them critical virtues. I also agree with Dr. Michele Borba on the central place that empathy, conscience, and self-control have among those virtues and with her suggestion that we practice, not just preach, those virtues.

I am glad you liked this article. I would welcome any ideas you and other visitors may have as to how to stop our busy lives and nuture these virtues for a moment. With some creativity, a few moments can go along way. Next month I will be focusing on respect. I have included some of Dr. Borba's tips on the welcome page about making kids feel valued. I would love to expand on this with ideas from anyone who would care to contribute. Thanks for the feedback!
