» Peller - Cornish Language A very badly written article without contacting any of the official Cornish language organisations. How can a language be spoken by 3000 people AND be extinct? It's impossible. Secondly it is officially recognised by the European Union and the UK Government. I have written cheques in Cornish and had them accepted by the bank without any problems. The British Government in 2004 published a strategy document for Cornish and published it in both English and In Cornish (in four different orthographies as well).Cornish is now part of the curriculum in some Cornish schools and as an extra-curricula activity in many others. There are classes all over Cornwall, and in other places such as Bristol and in London. Several free courses vie-mailil anonlineneCD-romsms, a full length feature film and numerous albums, poems. The list is extensive. More Cornish has been written in the last 20 years than exists of the traditional written language. It is more alive now than at any time in the last 250 years. -- posted by Peller
