Kolbe produces study guides with chapter review questions for many of their books.webmaster -- posted by athanasius » StCatherine - Found-a great list of sites at Hosea House, a wonderful web site.Check out this great list of homeschooling resources at http://www.geocities.com/~hoseahouse/scr... -- posted by StCatherine » Aucoin_Academy - New to homeschooling Our family has been homeschooling since Nov. 1, 1998. My daughter and I seem to be alternating being sick. I've been sick all week, so she has been doing some reading. I haven't been up to explaining algebra or talking French.Lynn, I'm glad you found Catholicism at Suite101.com. Hope you found something useful here and that you'll come back often. There are some links for children in the family section of the links. -- posted by StCatherine » StCatherine - Our Lady of Victory School A reader just sent the correct URL for Our Lady of Victory School. May God bless us all, in public or private schools or at home!!!! -- posted by StCatherine » alban - catholic home schooling, thanks Thank you for enlightening me on this topic. Before reading this article and disscussion, I was under the impression that home schooling was limited to anti-catholic fundamentalist, type protestants. I live in a strongly fundamentalist area of texas, and all the hsers I know fit that description. A question though, why cant we support the parocial school system better? In my city there are 5 parrishes and 3 missions, yet only 1 Catholic grade school. -- posted by alban » StCatherine - I'm not sure but I think that some Catholic parents have the same criticism of parochial schools that are made of public schools. Some parochial schools emphasize academics and sports so much that they fail to be places to grow spiritually. Some parochial schools are criticized for teaching non-traditional values. And the kids at some parochial schools are bringing outrageous personal problems to school that disrupt serious education. It seems that a number of parochial schools are not so different from public schools. -- posted by StCatherine » Finola - Re: catholic home schooling, thanks I am going through a hard time with having a 5th grader in my parochial school. The sex education just appalled me. When I complained, there is nothing can be done. The principal informed me that she checked around 12 other Catholic schools in the area and we were the only parents who opted out.Homeschooling is the only option to keep you from feeling forced into the sex ed. system Sincerely, Finola Glassmoyer -- posted by Finola « Previous 1 2 3 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
