I think the best experiences in life are when we don't expect them.

I enjoyed your trek. I, too, love forests and am always overjoyed when I can spend quiet, reflective time in them.

Nice article. I loved your descriptions and especially in paragraph six I could feel the mystic serenity.

Joy,

Thank you for your compliments. The paragraph you mention was a tricky one for me. I enjoyed writing it and it helped convey what I was feeling during the walk but I was not sure how it would be received. I am really glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

Thanks, Steve. It's great to be back. I do notice, however, less chat in the discussion areas. Guess I have my work cut out letting folks know I'm back.

Would love to see your geographical area some day.

Jerriri,

I hope that you are able to visit the Carolinas some day. Someday I hope that I am able to visit Washington again too. We visited some relatives in Washington when I was probably 13 so it has been more than 20 years since I have been there. I remember is was a very beautiful state and it would be nice to visit again as an adult. You are correct about the drop in discussion traffic. It had been since August that I had had a posting in my discussion area so I was very glad to see your post. Thanks again for reading and discussing!

» cmborris - Hi Steve

I thought I'd follow you on over from Tom's site. I love wiggling my feet in nature, even online.

I'd love to visit the Carolinas but in the meantime, I think I just had a virtual experience.

Thanks!

Cynthia

Cynthia,

I am glad you chose to visit my topic and I am thrilled to know that you enjoyed the experience. I hope that one day you are able to visit the Carolinas and if you ever need advice on things to do while you are here I would be glad to help!

Hi Steve,

We must be some kind of soul brothers, as I feel the same about Hilton as you. In truth, I was only there once a long time ago when I formed my opinion of disdain for the place.

Thanks for pointing out this nature preserve. Should I get back there in this lifetime, I will be sure to visit.

Will be catching up on your excellent articles in the next few days, as I have now come back to life here at Suite101.

Best wishes from a former North Carolinian who is now an Oregonian, but who will always be Tarheel born and bred.

Tom

Tom,

I am often amazed when I read your writing at some of the similarities between us as well. I guess maybe we are cyber soul brothers anyway. Thanks for continuing to support my writing at Suite101.
