» SandyMcC - my own memories

I don't know how old you are, Tom, but you made me have flashbacks! smile I remember those old canary-yellow discs and I played them on my Mustang stereo that hung on my bedroom wall. Back then it was my parents who told me to turn it down, and nowadays it's my kids, although I don't play the bright yellow discs anymore. Now, they're quite colorful and much smaller, played on a different sort of disc player.

Thanks for the memories! smile

Hi Sandy,

Looks like we may be of similar ages (Sh-h-h).

I thought the song contrasted with our human hopes for heaven and the need to live every day as if it is heaven on earth. Glad you like it!

» doveflys - Today I decided not to wear any socks

Hello My Friend,

How much I really needed this article this day, to remind me of so many things I fail to consider.

When someone says something to me, I stop to ponder those words. When many people say the same thing to me, I take the words much more seriously.

Everyone is always telling me to relax !!!

May be that I need to "Live as though it's Heaven on earth."

Thank you Tom
Lou

Hi Lou,

Glad you enjoyed this article.

By the way this has become my most popular article. I guess it's the movie of the same title, but this essay has had over a thousand hits at least.

» violetmuse - Inspiring and lovely

Hi Thomas:
You capture in so beautiful images the experience of life. I`ve not hear that song, but I can grasp all the music from your writing.
At the entrance of my apartment, I have a written thought, hanging in my wall, that reads...¨LA VIDA ES AHORA MISMO¨ -Facundo Cabral
In english it is: ¨Life is right now¨
Thanks for sharing, Aurora

Hi Aurora,

Thanks for your comments. Glad that the theme of the article came across to you. I like your saying in Spanish. Spanish is so succinct oftentimes.

Best wishes,
Tom

Hi Marilyn,

Thanks for stopping by and for your positive comments. The BBC researcher interviewed me for 30 minutes and used about a minute of it! But, it was exciting.
