Hi Tom,

Great article. Enjoyed learning about this term and all my relations. We are indeed all connected as you point out so poignantly in this article.

Wow! Thank you so much for this article. I am empowered by learning the word Mitakyasi. I was having trouble getting out of bed and into my day, but your words gave me a heart-smile. I am deeply connected to the earth and the ways of of the primary people. I am lucky to have been introduced to shamanism, spirit guides, and patchamama. Thank you for reminding me to look outside all this is greater than "I" - it will sustain me.

Tom,

I think we can all learn something from your essay. I too often shrink away from the world when it starts to close in around me. Learning to open up and view my relations with the surroundings is something that I for one need to work on more often.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Sunbear,
Thank you for sharing your experiences. We're in a race against time before sacred Native rituals disappear because of our oral tradition. Thank you for writing what Black Elk taught you. You are fortunate.

Hi Sandy,
I remember Black Elk speaking about all the native rituals that had been lost over time. It was a staggering number.

Thank you so much for leaving a post.

into existence, Greetings, a wonderful and inspiring article. If we could take the time to reflect on the meaning contained in "all my relations", perhaps we could create a place that honours and respects those relations.
