I have some of the same symptoms as you. Cough for 3 months, neck swelling , hard to swallow. I went to the Mayo clinic and the said that it was asthma. Put me on some medicine.My problem is that my neck is still stiff and it is getting harder to swallow. My breathing is very irregular. Not sure if it is from the asthma or not. I have a cyst on my left vocal cord. That much they did find when they put the scope down there. Thanks-- posted by mom37

about a year ago I white patches on my throat. I went to the doctor and was tested for " kissing disease", thrush, and strep throat. during this time they put me in antibiotics 2x and it finally cleared the patches up. However my throat was still red and tonsils swollen. After visiting the same Doc about 4x I asked to be sent to a specialist and he gave me a stronger antibiotic which cleared it temporarily. I after about 2 weeks it returned (red swollen tonsils)The doctor finally recommended they come out(tonsils). This was in April. since then i don't believe they healed so i went back. He gave me another antibiotic. Which cleared it up temporarily. Now I have no tonsils still red throat and mild ear ache. I think I see a couple lump too. Give me advise. I am going back to the doctor how should i handle this. Now I have no insurance however i will Dec. 1st and what about pre exsisting conditions if i go to the doctor tomorrow.
