» SandyMcC - My Goodness!

Wow Mary,

You really packed a lot of information into that piece, and the photos are wonderful! I've never been to these falls but I'd sure like to go, once. Some day when the kids are big...

I collect coffee mugs that say the names of places on them, and I'm always saying that when I grow up I'm going to visit all the places on my cups. smile

Sandy,

I hope you have a coffee mug that says, Canada. I'm sure you would love some of the places here and you are not that far from BC. Have you ever been there?

I hope that you do get to visit all the places that you dream of. I love to travel and hope that someday I will visit you in Ketchikan.

Take care, my friend and thanks for stopping by. Oh, did you see that I finally have my recap article up. It took a while but I finally finished it. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for the challenge.

How is that puppy doing?

Rosalind,

I'm glad you were able to stroll down Memory Lane with me. Niagara Falls and Niagara-On-The-Lake are both beautiful places to visit.

I hope that one day you will get back to the Falls again. It is a wonderful place to visit and there is so much to see and do.

Take care and please drop in again soon.

» RosemaryBasil - Homesick

You make me very homesick with these, Mary. Great job! The history, legends and lore surrounding that place are amazing. My favorite place to swim was Victoria Park. I always loved NF and went as often as I could especially in summer, would walk that Rainbow bridge. I used to ride my bike over thru Grand Island sometimes, that was quite a journey. LOVED the lights! Do they still have that huge ferris wheel?
Thank you for the memories!
Happy Mardi Gras from New Orleans, Superbowl was awesome. I have an article on it you might enjoy:

and much Mardi Gras. Going to see Endymion (parade) Saturday if I feel ok. Will take pix. Can't wait!

Rose,

Sadly, the ferris wheel and that entire village is gone - a thing of the past. Casino Niagara sits on that spot. I've never been there but used to go to Maple Leaf Village.

Yes, the Super Bowl was good. I'm glad the Patriots won. Saw the last few minutes (seconds) of the game and the winning field goal and a little of half time.

I will read your article but right now I'm off to the bank and then to watch the boys. See you tonight.

» Bob_Ewing - My last visit

Greetings, great article, brings back memories of my childhood visits to the Falls. The last time I was in Niagara Falls was about 7 years ago. I was there for a meeting and a retreat. The time before that it was New Year's Eve and we had been out visiting friends and decided to stop by the Falls before driving back to Toronto, we arrived just before midnight. It was wonderful.

Bob,

Dad often took us to the Falls for an outing when I was young. We always loved it there and I also have many happy memories of those days.

Niagara Falls has changed a little since those days but not a whole lot. It still has hundreds of museums and other spots that are delightful to visit. The Falls themselves are alway a wonder. The lights at night are beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed speding time on your topic last night and found some great articles there.

Take care, Bob. I hope you get to visit the Falls again soon.

Interesting, as usual! I've learned a lot about the other half of this continent by reading your work.

Thanks for the card, Mary! Just got my 'puter back yesterday, so I can keep in touch again. Kiss those boys for me!

Love,
