» jerrib - Niagara Falls

is truly an experience. I didn't realize all that other stuff was there, but we haven't been since the '70's. Wow.

Thanks for the informative article, Mary. It would be really fun to take the boat and really get the impact of the falls.

Have you ever heard of Mesa Falls Recreational Area in Idaho? That falls reminds me of a mini-Niagara Falls.

When we were at the ocean this weekend and there were 40 mph winds it reinforced the power of nature. Whether the ocean or Niagara Falls, one really feels insignificant next to them. But I do love them.

Jerri,

I have stood on the shore and watched ocean waves be whipped by the wind. One such storm I thought I would be blown away. Nature is a mighty force and one to be reckoned with. Yes, Niagara Falls makes you feel insignificant, especially on the tour under the Falls. If you've never taken that tour, be sure to put it on your destination list. There have been many new attractions added since the '70's. I know you would love it there.

No, I have never heard of Mesa Falls Recreation Area in Idaho. I am going to see what I can find about it online.

Thanks for the stopping by. I really enjoyed your visit. If you ever decide to come to Niagara again, be sure to let me know.

Hope all is well with you and you family.

» Allyso - Wow!

Hello, Mary;

That article is an eye-opener. I always thought the falls were just - well - falls!
Thanks for letting me know otherwise. I've seen a butterfly house at Melbourne Zoo and a floral clock at the Hobart Botannical Gardens, so I did have some points of reference.

Ally.
Come for a January ramble with me at http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/1118...

Allyso,

There is so much to see and do at the Falls that I couldn't include it all here. I tried my best to touch on everything. I bet there are things there that I don't even know about.

I have never been to the Butterfly Conservatory. Each time we plan on going, something happens. I am going to make a point of going this summer and going there first. Mom has seen it and says it is spectacular.

The Floral Clock is always lovely, as are the Botanical Gardens. If you ever make it to the Falls, be sure to visit Niagara-On-The-Lake, which is a beautiful little town steeped in history. You can take a horse and buggy ride or visit the boutiques. The Shaw Festival is held there and there is so much to see and do.

Thanks for dropping by. I always enjoy you visits. Hope all is well on your side of the world. We have about 3 inches of snow this morning.

Like Jerri, I did not know the other things were there either. Of course, I have never been there at all. I get cold just thinking about all that water. I am so scary it is just as well. I would never get on that elevator! LOL Enjoyed this, Mary.

Lee,

You should really see the Falls. They are gorgeous and you don't have to get near them. From the Canadian side, you can view them from a distance. You would love them. Elevators are not madatory. Though I am not fond of elevators, I didn't find that one too bad at all. There is an operator that keeps everyone assured.

Glad you dropped over and was able to take a cyber tour of the Falls. Hope that someday you will see them in person.

» Sunbear - Great article!

Hi Red,

Have always been fascinated by Niagara Falls though I have never been there.

Thanks for pointing out some other attractions also. I am particularly fascinated by the butterflies.

Hope you are doing well.

Tom,

Mom says the Butterfly Conservatory is awesome. I have headed out to see it twice now but something has happened both times that prohibited me from seeing it. I vow I am going to see it this year.

If you have never been to the Falls, you might want to add it to your destination list. I hope that one day you get to see it. It is the experience of a lifetime.

Things are okay here. Hope you are doing great.

Sandy,

If you've never visited the Falls, then be sure to put it on your destination list. It is a fabulous place to visit. Everyone should see it at least once in a lifetime.
