CANADA'S NORTHWEST TERRITORIESRead the article this discussion is about
This archived discussion is "read only". » Fort_Spunky - The Beautiful Northwest Hi Mary,Once again, I enjoyed traveling with you through Canada. You found great photos to illustrate with, too. Of course, that waterfall has to be my favorite. I believe someone else used the word majestic--which is a perfect fit. Hope things are going well for you and everyone at your house is pain free and growing stronger. Linda -- posted by Fort_Spunky » Red - Re: The Beautiful Northwest In response to message posted by Fort_Spunky:Linda, glad to have you drop in for a visit. Yes, that waterfall is my favorite too. Wouldn't it be lovely to just pack up and take off to this world of solitude and splendor? Thanks for lovely comments. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Things are not as good here this weekend as they have been. I wonder what's up. Will keep you updated. Thanks so much for your support, both on my topic and during my hubby's surgery. -- posted by Red » jerrib - Alexander Fall is breathtaking, Mary. So is your polar bear photo. This sounds like a beautiful place to visit. Thanks for the excellent description. I think I would go with a guide as the last thing I'd want to do is meet a bear! It made me nervous enough when we went camping at the Hoodoo between Golden and Banff, BC, and there were bear traps in the campground!Hope all's well with you and Dwight. -- posted by jerrib » Red - Re: Alexander Fall In response to message posted by jerrib:Jerri, Thanks for dropping by. Isn't Alexander Falls beautiful? Pack up your bags and come with the rest of us girls on the trip. Wouldn't it be great if we could do it? Yes, a guide would be perfect. Though bears look cuddly, I wouldn't want to meet one face to face. I had a close encounter with a black bear one time when I was camping with Dad, Mom and Michelle. We just stayed in the camper until it left camp. It was a sow and she sauntered out of camp like she owned the earth. At that moment she owned the camping spot, because no one was venturing out to shoo her away. LOL Take care my friend. Thanks for visiting and please keep in touch. -- posted by Red » Mountain_lady - Canada's Northwest Territories Wow! That was a fantastic trip! I'm not too sure of the bears though. I guess I've watched too many documentaries on bears. I don't trust them, not ever the little black bears we have around here. I would love to see the area though. You know me, I love nature. Those pictures were great, can't wait till we take another trip..till then..hugs-- posted by Mountain_lady » Red - Re: Canada's Northwest Territories In response to message posted by Mountain_lady:Bertha, though bears look cuddly, I don't trust them either. I have only seen black bears in the wild. We just stayed inside Dad's camper until she licked the bacon drippings out of the frying pan. They say black bears don't attack humans and there has only been one black bear attack in Ontario in decades. They figure she had rabies but I'm wondering if the person got between her and her cub(s). Any mother will attack to protect her young. I was over to your topic earlier and enjoyed your article on your Ozarks in Autumn. Thanks for dropping by. Hope all is well. -- posted by Red » Mary Trotter Kion - Northwest Hi Mary,I was just crusing around, looking for fort articles. This came up because one of your messages was from a Fort Spunky. I guess the laugh is on me. But I did enjoy the article. Great Photos. Mary -- posted by Mary Trotter Kion » Red - Re: Northwest In response to Northwest posted by lastword:Mary, Well, however you got here, I'm glad you stopped by to visit and that you enjoyed the article. Have you ever been to Canada? If not, you should make it a point to visit one day. You would especially enjoy the British Columbia, Alberta area. -- posted by Red » humorous_sage - Brrrrr. Those were beautiful pictures. They remind me of our trip to Alaska although we made it during the summer. Even then, it snowed when we were in Fairbanks.-- posted by humorous_sage » Red - Re: Brrrrr. In response to Brrrrr. posted by humorous_sage:Henry, Living that far north is an experience I wouldn't want to have. Storms can move in without warning and temperatures can drop at an alarming rate. You have to be prepared at all times. Like anywhere, it has its pros and cons. Thanks for dropping by. I always enjoy your visits. -- posted by Red Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
