In response to message posted by BettyPine:

Betty, the African Lion Safari is a great place to visit. They are very environmentally friendly and do all they can to protect endangered species.

I agree that if we do not take care of the Earth, that these wonderful creatures will only be seen in zoos and wild life parks. What a shame to think that future generations will never see these animals in their natural habitat. Mankind needs to open its eyes.

Thanks so much for dropping by. I always enjoy your visits and your comments. Your support is always appreciated. Have a great week.

Anne, once you feel the vibrations of a lion's roar, it is something you never forget. I love going to the Safari and seeing the lions prowl their natural habitat. The lions and elephants are my favorites. The elephants put on quite a show, especially if there are babies. They know that the people are watching them and put on quite a performance.

Dwight and I are okay. We are waiting for word on a date for his bypass surgery. I figure that it will be sometime in August and my family doctor agrees. Hope it is sooner though. All of this waiting is nerve wracking. Thanks for asking.

I am always happy to have you visit. The last week or two have been very hectic, so I am way behind in visiting other's topics. I will get over as soon as possible.

Have a great week my friend. Till later...

» jerrib - This sounds like a kick, Mary

I enjoyed your description of it, and all the good the preserve is doing for animals.

Thanks for my new "name" graphic. I'm trying it out here, and hope to see you over to visit soon.

Jerri,

I am glad you enjoyed the article on the African Lion Safari. The Safari does a lot of good for animals.

I hope you get your "name" graphic working. If you need an HTML code to work with, just let me know. I have the one I use and would be happy to share it with you. Glad you liked it.

Mary, what a fabulous place. And the article ain't bad either! Hehe. Just teasing. It's a great article, and the pictures are superb. I especially love that they are breeding and rearing some endangered species, too. How lucky that you got to go there. It must have been a memorable visit.

I enjoyed the article, as always. Hope things are going well for you, Mary. Take care. Renie

Renie, thanks for the kind wishes. Today was a tough day but I will see it through.

The Lion Safari is great. Glad you enjoyed the article. hehe.

I have been to the park several times over the years and there is always something new there. I too am impressed that they are breeding endangered species and trying to reintroduce them into their natural habitat. We must care for the creatures in this world as they are necessary for the environment. Those elephants are great. Maybe one day you can get back to Ontario and I can give you a tour. That would be great.

Take care my friend. I am always delighted to see you here and appreciate your support. Have a great week. I enjoy visiting your topic and will see you again soon. Have a great time in your woods.

» Dubh_Sidhe - Strange happening

Hi Mary. I posted shortly after Dan's post and I see this morning it is not there. One of your wild creatures devoured it! LOL!

Anyway, again, this is a great article and the pictures are terrific.

One of our local schools took a field trip to a petting zoo. A baby goat had rabies, and all of the kids had to be vaccinated. I am timid in petting, anyway, but wow, never on a Lion Safari.

Enjoyed my visit, as always!

Virginia, your post is #13. I am not sure if that is why your posting is not showing up or if one of those lions got hungry and went foraging for food in cyberspace. However, if that is the case, he didn't like what he ate, because your posting has magically reappeared. hehe.

I knew you had posted because I remembered posting a reply. Not sure what has been going on a the Suite this last week, but this isn't the only strange happening that I have experienced.

Have a great weekend. This is a holiday weekend for us. Monday we celebrate the Queen's Birthday. Queen Victoria, that is, but it has always been celebrated in Canada on the 24th of May since she reined. Queen Elizabeth's birthday is in April.

This sounds like my kind of place! These natural habitats are by far better than zoos, for the animals and visitors alike. We learn much more by observing an animal in its natural living conditions, not to mention the lesson of respect for other creatures. Zoos send the wrong message. Thanks for your kind comments on my "sweater elephant" article.

Joy, glad you dropped by. Yes, I do enjoy taking the boys to the Safari. All of the animals are in their natural habitat and we all learn so much. The last time I took the boys, the lions were mating. Try to explain that to two boys ages 6 and 4. LOL

I really enjoyed your "sweater elephant" article and did go to see the page of Barbara's photos. Putting that sweater on her must have been a chore, even with all the velcro. But she did look beautiful in it. Too bad she is no longer with us. That saddens me.

Take care, Joy and thanks so much for your comments on my article. I will be in touch.
