» jerrib - Very interesting writing

Mary, I did not know of this woman, so I'm glad to learn of her. Such a brave gal, too. Thanks.

Jerri, it must have been very hard for Mary Ann to take on the tasks that she did. That was many years ago and as you know, women are just not beginning to achieve recognition for their accomplishments.

Thanks for stopping by. I always enjoy your visits. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Anne, I suspected there would be many people who didn't know of the accomplishments of Mary Ann Shadd Cary. In fact, I hadn't heard of her until I ran across a website about Canadian women in history.

Thanks for the nice comments. I always enjoy it when you drop by for a visit.

Take care my friend. Hope it is warm in your corner of the country. It is freezing here.

Another fine Mary for the collection...
Seriously, I was fascinated by Mary's story. I hadn't heard of her before but I applaud her philosophy. It matches Aboriginal Australian singer Jimmy Little's motto; "Harmony to all Peoples".

Allyso,

Glad you dropped by to read of Mary's accomplishments. Thanks for leaving a touch of humor in your message. It certainly brightened my day.

I have never had the privledge of hearing Jimmy Little's music by I sure like his philosophy.

Have a great day Allyso. Hope you're having good weather.

Jerri, thank you for the wonderful compliment. You've made my day, my friend. This is the first message I saw when I came online today.

I just got back from taking Meeko for his walk. It is sunny and in the 50's already. We saw several Robins, so spring must be here. hehe This is going to be a great day.

I just read your story, "Message From A Friend," which appeared in Sharing The Earth. You are a fantastic writer as well. I really enjoyed it and so did Brandon. He thinks it is "Cool" that I have my stories in the same book as my friends.
Kids have a way of making your day.

Take care. I hope you are doing well. I will be in touch.
