And it's so easy to forget all of those skeeters, yellow jackets, and flys that tend to go along with the beauty. C'est la vie. -- posted by humorous_sage » Red - Re: Re: Spiritual Nutrition In response to Re: Spiritual Nutrition posted by humorous_sage:
LOL,yes, the skeeters in those parts are huge and in the spring they will eat you alive, as will the black flies. That is one of the reasons I love to visit in autumn. The second is the beautiful hues of color that nature paints over the landscape. Yellow jackets, well that is another story - they are nasty creatures, that's for sure. Love the artwork that is in your sig file. Who is the artist? -- posted by Red » humorous_sage - Artwork In response to Re: Re: Spiritual Nutrition posted by Red:Almost all of my "artwork" is mine. I've worked on cartooning since I was 12 and am still trying to learn the craft. As for the photos, I rely on a nice digital camera. The digitals have me hooked. The only film shots I use were taken before I had a digital camera and some go back a few decades. Thanks for the encouragement. Hank -- posted by humorous_sage » Red - Re: Artwork In response to Artwork posted by humorous_sage:Hank, Go for it. There are lots of cartooning courses available. I'm not sure where you live, but even a correspondence course in cartooning might be worth looking into. Follow your dreams, my friend. You have talent just waiting to be developed at a higher level. -- posted by Red » humorous_sage - Re: Re: Artwork In response to Re: Artwork posted by Red:I'm sure that my talent will be appreciated at a higher level. This one is wonderful. Would you consider writing about your art on a Kids' Korner topic? We don't have an art topic in KK right now. Think about it and let me know, please. Thanks, -- posted by Red » humorous_sage - Re: Re: Re: Re: Artwork In response to Re: Re: Re: Artwork posted by Red:Thanks for the kudos. However, my "art" is strictly "cut and try" and very basic. I know as much about art as Francis Bacon knew about atomic physics. Have you tried to recruit Brisbaneartist? She is really good. -- posted by humorous_sage » humorous_sage - Re: Re: Re: Re: Artwork In response to Re: Re: Re: Artwork posted by Red:By the way, are you talking about an existing site or are you thinking about creating a new one? I one does exist, I'd like to look at it to see what is expected. Maybe I could learn something from that project. -- posted by humorous_sage » Red - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Artwork In response to Re: Re: Re: Re: Artwork posted by humorous_sage:
All Kids' Korner topics have to be a minimum of 200 words. The maximum word count is 400. I was thinking that you could write about the things you enjoy drawing and give tips that you find helpful so the kids can use them. The topic can go anyway you wish, as long as it is informative. You're welcome to upload your own drawings to your topic articles. There is no longer an art topic in Kids' Korner. There was at one time, but it's been moved and I'm not sure it even exists any longer. Jo Murphy wrote it. Traute Klein writes Young at Art in Youth Corner - at least I think she still does. If not, you can find it under retired topics. Think about it and we will discuss it. I know you'd be great at it.
