» silverslipper - A Tribute...

Hi Mary, what a magnificent job on a tribute to this man. He must have been one of those special people on this earth that tried to treat others like he wanted to be treated. Those people are rare to society. His honesty must have helped thousands in their choices of life. I wish I had of known him.His family also has my condolence as well as the family of Canada. Thanks for introducing me to him.

» Red - Yes silver, he was a special man

I thank you for offering your condolences to the Vaughan family and to all of Canada. How thoughtful.

Yes, Colin was a great journalist and a great man. He did think of everyone before he thought of himself. In that way, he was much like you.

Each night when I turn on CITY-TV, I will miss that white hair and devilish grin. At election time and when there is big news at Toronto City Hall, I will miss his opinions and the direct way he questioned the politicians. He never wavered either. If a question was avoided, he pursured it.

Thanks for your kind words about my article. I wanted to give tribute to a man who made everyone's life that he touched a bit better. He has changed the lives of many. Colin was unique and he will be missed by many.

Thanks for dropping by. Your comments are a most valued part of my discussion area.

» Renie_Burghardt - Your tribute.

Your tribute to Colin Vaughn is sincere and touching, Mary, and I'm sure appreciated by his family and fans. From your research it's obvious the man was a great journalist and even more importantly, a caring human being, and his memory will live on for many years. God's blessing on his loved ones in their time of sadness. Thank your for thoughfulness in letting people know about such a special person. It's also very obvious how much he will be missed!

» Red - Thanks Renie

I appreciate your kind words on my article. Yes, Colin will be missed and he was a great guy. He helped everyone he could and would go out with the Anishwabe Street Patrol on nights when it was -22Celcius here to try and help the homeless. That was on his own time. He didn't have to do it. That is the kind of person he was.

I will miss him at election time for sure. I always listened to what he had to say about the canidates before casting my ballot.

Thanks for your kind words. I always look forward to you joining in my discussions.

» Red - Jerri

Though I never actually met Colin, I will miss his devilish smile and sarcastic remarks about those politicians that he went after. He kept them in line and I wonder who will do it now. He was a great man and a great journalist. I will especially miss him at election time when he brought out both good and bad points about the contenders.

Thanks for you kind remarks and thanks for visiting again. I always enjoy your input.

» Red - UPDATE...

Today I received an e-mail from Pat Marson, who is Colin Vaughan's wife. Apparently City TV collected all the tributes that were written for Colin and presented them to her. Mine was among them and she wrote to tell me how much she appreciated it.

I would like to thank Mrs Vaughan for sending me that special e-mail. It will always be very important to me.

I would also like to thank City TV for collecting these articles for Mrs Vaughan and especially for making certain that mine was among them. It is a great honor.
