I doubt if long sleeves and pants would be enough. I suggest puncture-proof clothes so that the skeeters spear their barbs into something more substantial than cotton. I've had hundreds of those wee vampires penetrate my pants in order to sample my blood.Sorry Mr. Mosquito. I prefer to give on my home turf of Minnesota.

What a wonderful article, Mary! Reading it makes me want to visit Algonquin Park - right now!! We used to go canoeing and I loved it. I can imagine canoeing in Algonquin Park, especially in the fall. It must be an awesome experience. Great article - thank you. :-)-- posted by Tina_Coruth
