Yes, may God protect them and send legions of angels to watch over them. That is the only way the are going to be safe. -- posted by Red » Red - Re: Sad, Mary In response to Sad, Mary posted by jerrib:Jerri, Guy was proven innocent with the DNA testing. However, people still see him as a pedophile. I'm the first one to condemn any abusive actions against kids, but when someone is wrongly accused and convicted, they pay for it for the rest of their lives. People don't looked at the innocent verdict, only the guilty one. The Canadian Justice System has many flaws. Karla Homolka, who took part in tortures and killings of innocent teenagers is up for release this year. She killed her own sister, yet the Canadian government made a deal with her, which I call a deal with the devil. She is up for release this year and though they know she will reoffend, there's nothing they can do about it. She cannot be monitored. Yet, Guy who is innocent, is still paying for a crime he didn't commit. Where is the justice in that? Makes me angry. -- posted by Red » humorous_sage - Why? In response to Re: Sad, Mary posted by Red:My guess is that the "state" didn't have enough evidence to be sure that they could get a conviction. Too short a sentence is better than getting off without any time in jail. -- posted by humorous_sage » Red - Re: Why? In response to Why? posted by humorous_sage:Henry, If that is the case then the Canadian government needs to make adjustments to the Justice System. As soon as Karla lied, the deal should have been null and void. She will get out of prison this year and they know she will reoffend. She is a psychotic (sp) killer and her victims are high school girls. -- posted by Red » humorous_sage - Re: Re: Why? In response to Re: Why? posted by Red:I'm not sure about Canadian law but in the USA, I find it very complex. It is a real tough call to be fair to everyone. Often, it seems that we try too hard to be fair to the guilty at the expense of the innocent. Fair balance is difficult if not impossible. C'est la vie. -- posted by humorous_sage » Red - Re: Re: Re: Why? In response to Re: Re: Why? posted by humorous_sage:Henry, I'm afraid you're right. The guilty seem to have more rights than the victims. Sad. -- posted by Red » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: Re: Re: Re: Crimes In response to Re: Re: Re: Crimes posted by Red:Entirely too many children are missing from their beds today. -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Red - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Crimes In response to Re: Re: Re: Re: Crimes posted by Dubh_Sidhe:Lee, Yes, it's astounding how many kids go missing from their bedrooms. We had one in 2003 in Toronto. She disappeared in October and was found early the next year when we had a thaw. The murderer has never been found. Who could kill an innocent child? The problem is, the people who are caught don't get any heavy prison time. They do a few years and are then free to prey upon the innocent once more. Very sad. -- posted by Red « Previous 1 2 3 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
