Hi Mary,

I could almost feel that soft breeze blowing as I read your opening paragraph. What a lovely idea for a patio party.

Your article reminded me: A couple of years ago, I clipped out instructions for making a flower filled ice bowl. I haven't made one yet. Maybe this will be the year. It sounds easy. Making it is similar to the layered ice you mentioned, but after the first layer, you add another smaller bowl inside the first one and tape it to the larger bowl to anchor it. Then you put flowers in the space between the bowls and fill the space with water. Pop it in the freezer and weight it down so that it doesn't shift. Berries would also be pretty. Be sure and sit it on a tray when it's serving time to catch the drips as it melts. It sounds perfect for anything that needs to stay cold, like chicken salad.

Hope things are going well for you.

Linda
