That gives it a bitter aftertaste. The best "artificial" sweetener is Splenda but it is not artificial...it is an all natural form of sugar that is metabolized very slowly & is safe for diabetics to ingest. None of the current crop of artificial sweetener is truly safe when subjected to heat. Those that contain aspartame such as Equal & Sweet-n-Low, etc. breakdown as I have detailed. -- posted by DocKozzaki
