» tamara_peters - Thanks Mary! Mary, thanks so much for this information. I know that it will help many women. In fact, I've just emailed it to my daughter.FMers are known to have recurring problems with Candida as well as Thrush. I'll be sure to share this article with the Fibro Friends as well. Hugs, -- posted by tamara_peters » Red - Re: Thanks Mary! In response to Thanks Mary! posted by tamara_peters:Tamara, Candida is also a recurring problem for those with diabetes. It can be very frustrating for those who suffer this several times during a year. Another tip is to eat lots of yogurt with live bacteria. That can help keep the Candida at bay. So glad you know of those you can pass this info on to. It's always nice to know that an article will help others cope with recurring problems. Thanks for dropping by. I sure appreciate your support and participation in my discussion area. -- posted by Red » tamara_peters - Re: Re: Thanks Mary! In response to Re: Thanks Mary! posted by Red:Hey! That's what friends are for, right? I meant to say that I'm glad you mentioned about the plain yogurt. I had mistakenly thought that any yogurt would do. That's good to know. I also wondered about the mushrooms though. I would never dare to pick wild ones. Is there a particular kind that's more helpful than another? Oops, I forgot to actuall leave this link at Fibro Friends yesterday. LOL I'll do that this morning. Many women suffer from it for years because they are too shy to talk to their doctor about it. I'm glad that today we are required to have check ups once a year. However, many women don't and still suffer in silence. Thanks for the nice comments on this article. I appreciate your support. -- posted by Red » Red - Re: Re: Re: Thanks Mary! In response to Re: Re: Thanks Mary! posted by tamara_peters:Tamara, Yes, plain yogurt is best, though any yogurt with live bacteria will help. I found out about the mushrooms from a Native American herbalist. He didn't specify what kind. All is told me is that you "fight a fungus with a fungus." Mushrooms are fungi, so I guess any of them work. No, it can be dangerous picking wild mushrooms if you don't know what kind they are. Toadstools and mushrooms look very much alike and toadstools are poison. So are some kinds of mushrooms. It's better to buy them at the grocery store. There is a rule to follow when you pick wild mushrooms. I forget what it is. I will ask Mom and see if she remembers. -- posted by Red » StrmDncr - You may have saved a life Mary I want to thank you for this article. After reading it and having suffered not only yeast infections but a few other problems as well I checked in with my doctor. We did some test and found my blood sugar was up to 375. My back doctor was about to prescribe steroids but she asked me to check my sugar first. Because of your article I already knew what it was. If I had taken the drugs it would have shot my sugar up high enough to put me in trouble. Now that I have gotten my sugar under control, my yeast infections have completely cleared up and I can take the steroids for my back. So, I want to thank you. If I hadn’t checked my sugar I would have never known how dangerous the drugs were nor how close I came to diabetic shock. (((hugs))) -- posted by StrmDncr
