Jeff,

You wouldn't believe the problems we had with the school system for the first 3 years of Brandon's schooling. After giving the school a wake-up call and him getting a good teacher, things changed. Now that he has a new school, he is doing fantastic. He had a good year last year and is looking forward to grade 4.

Teacher's and principals need to be aware of the challenges that their pupils face. Though the naked eye may not be able to detect a disability, doesn't mean the child doesn't have one. I think that the "no touching" rule is ludicrious. (sp) Children need to touch. That doesn't mean hitting or punching, but having contact with others their age.

Behavioural issues are often a sign of a disability of some sort. When behaviour is erratic and melt downs occur, a child either has a disability or a problem of another sort.
