» Cabrales - Heaters

Another question. I've been looking at ceramic heaters on-line. It seems nobody in my area actually carries them. What should I look for when buying one? What are good/bad brands? What features are good to have? I have a pop-up which is 12' closed and about 21' open.

» campgirl - RE: 2001 Coleman Bayside

Morrisix, Thanks for posting what you paid for the Coleman 2001 Bayside. I looked at the 1998 Coleman Bayside (Utah 2000 layout), and loved it. It has been kept in beautiful condition. It comes with Air, the wardrobe cabinet, the pantry shelf, the cross bars for a bike rack (they are keeping the bike racks for their new RV), along with all of the standard included with the Bayside. They are asking $8600. I offered $8000. We haven't firmed up the deal yet, but it's looking good. I feel that for a unit that is only a couple of years old, that I will be doing quite well if the offer is accepted.

Thanks again for your posting.

» morrisix - Coleman owners manual

Thanks Pierre,
Contacted the Coleman web site and received a response back the same day. They are sending out an owners manual directly to me.

Hi Campgirl,
Hope you land that Bayside. Sounds like a good deal! By the way, where are the bike racks located? Front or back?

» campgirl - Bike Racks

Morrisix,

The bike racks are located in the front of the camper (2 on each side)...The A/C is close ...but there was plenty of room for them up front.

» campgirl - Coleman roof problems?

Hello Everyone. In some of the notes here, I read about some problems with the Coleman ABS roof. Apparently, in some of the warmer climates, the roof has been bowing out. The fix is to have Coleman add an additional strut in the roof. Has anyone experienced this problem...and do you know if they corrected the problem with the newer units? If so, do you know what year the change was made?

Thanks for your help. This site is a God-send!

» Uncle_Mildew - Coleman Dealers in/near Eugene, Oregon

I think you're correct in that the closest Coleman dealer to you would be Apache Camping Ctr on SE 82nd in Portland. But you say you have a Jayco dealer there in Eugene--Jaycos are truly fine units, too, and there's a tremendous edge in having your dealer/servicer close at hand.

The folks at Apache Camping Center, especially Mary, have been wonderful to us.

Have an 89 Coleman Chesapeake. Onliest gripe is that the floor sags in the back (kitchen) portion. A longitudinal brace is called for. Other than that, it's simple, sturdy and trouble- free.

» Uncle_Mildew - Electrical Accessories

Your dealer can quickly and inexpensively set up your trailer's wiring to charge a deep cell battery while driving. But I know of no ceramic electric heaters than run on 12V, and if they did, they'd suck that battery down to zilch faster'n a hog eats supper. You need external hookups for that.

Why not talk to your dealer instead about installing a propane furnace? Moah bettah and, properly installed, moah safer, methinks.

» ChuckGoldsmith - battery

the van will keep the bat charged when connected , if the van is hooked up , both battries could run down. I always disconnect van when camping. Palimino address is www.paliminorv.com they might be able to send a manual for your camper. A 12 volt heater will run down your battery real quick. Mine is 120 v. For camping where 120v is not available , propane is the way to go. chuck

» JimGailJJ - Realllly scared... need advice

Labor Day weekend we were returning from a great week end with our Starcraft. We tow with a 1996 Ford Explorer that we recently purchased. When we were approaching traffic stopped at a signal my husband began to stop and all of a sudden the engine began to accelerate on its own. He was barely able to keep it from running into the stopped traffic. He shut off the engine because it was the only way to get it to stop. When traffic moved he started again and we had no problems the rest of the way home (126 miles). When we pulled up in front of the house he went to shift into park and it began to accelerate again. We have had this happen twice before and the dealer said they had never heard of it before.
Has anyone out there ever heard of this happening before or are we just losing our minds?
Desperate!!!!!
