Okay, you might want to read a couple of my articles on pop-ups and also scan through past postings of this discussion group. My articles:The advantages of owning a pop-up, The 1999 RV Show, Tent Trailers: Pop-up Camping. Hope this helps. Good Luck, -- posted by Tom_Stephens » bennybinga - Change of mind. I changed my mind and decided to pay the extra 700.00 for the 2001 model.. Elec. Brakes, cable hook up, and warranty I decided were worth it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this deal? 2001 Sea Pine, AC, fridge, Awning, add a room, for 8,000??? Good, bad?-- posted by bennybinga » Mike_in_Vt - Used Pop-Up Prices I just purchased a used (like new) 1996 Coleman Sun Valley with Fridge and add a room packed with camping gear for $4300. I didn't know if this was a good deal but I checked the NADA via the web and was pleased to see that Pop-Up campers are listed. The book on this camper, with the options I have, ranged from a low of $4200 to a high book of $5300 (my camper was easily worth high end of book). Other shoppers for used campers may find the NADA a useful tool. Just my $.02 worth.Mike -- posted by Mike_in_Vt » Doxies - coleman prices Its amazing how much variance there is in Colman pricing. I too have been shopping and soliciting quotes from various dealers. After reading an earlier message on this discussion, I asked a dealer in the Atlanta, GA area (PECO - you can find them thru the Coleman trailer site) for a quote on the same trailer. 2001 model Santa Fe was 5895.00 and Sea Pine was 6295 with everything except a/c which was 595.00 more. Either way, it's more than 1000 less than your quote. IF only we all lived near Atlanta.-- posted by Doxies » ckndave - First time out in our new Cheyenne Hi all! We just got back from our first popup inaugural journey. We got to our campsite okay, Jemez mountains in New Mexico) and secured a site with electricity (we thought we would try out our a/c the next day for fun). Got everything set up fine and, as we were setting up our awning and getting ready to put the guy lines out, a gust of wind grabbed it and threw it up over the top of the camper! We got it back but the middle pole was bent after wrenching itself over the a/c and the black rubber tips broke on all three poles. We put the awning back in the zipper, sighed, and said "Well since it is new, it is under warranty". I have yet to contact our dealer, hopefully they will replace everything. We had a great night, everything else worked great and my three year old son loved being in his own bed. The next day, we took a day trip to Bandelier National Monument and came back to a hail storm! It looked like the middle of winter and there were gully washers tearing up the dirt road everywhere. We will now have to back out of the spot we parked in instead of pulling straight through because of a four foot gulf in the road from the storm. Thank God we had a furnace on the unit...it worked great! I think we will buy a little TV/VCR unit in the future to keep my son from bouncing off the walls after being in the camper for 3 hours straight! The next day my husband backed the camper out like a pro and we got home in one piece. We are now planning our Labor Day weekend trip to Molas Lake pass in the San Juan mountains of Colorado! Can't wait to go and hopefully we will have an awning to enjoy! CK -- posted by ckndave » blindalley - Santa Fe That trailer is 500lbs OVER your capacity. We have had transmission troubles with our Ford Aerostar even with the trailer under our limits.
